Debunking the False Claims
The success of ‘Saiyaara’ has led to rumors suggesting that Aneet Padda landed the role due to industry connections, wrongly being labeled as filmmaker Nitya Mehra’s daughter. However, these rumors are baseless as Aneet was born in 2002, while Mehra’s child was born in 2019.
The Truth Behind ‘Saiyaara’
Mohit Suri’s recent film ‘Saiyaara’ is a hit, gathering substantial box office numbers. Speculations about Aneet Padda’s casting based on her industry ties have been circulating. The gossip of her being a ‘Nepo Baby’ emerged from a misleading Reddit post falsely claiming her parentage.
It all began with a viral Reddit post titled ‘Aneet Padda Nepo Kid,’ which alleged that she is the offspring of filmmakers Nitya Mehra and Karan Kapadia, accusing her of nepotism. However, these accusations are unfounded as Nitya and Karan’s child was born in 2019, whereas Aneet’s birth year is 2002.
Clarifying the Misunderstanding
The confusion stemmed from Aneet calling the pair her ‘Bombay parents’ during the filming of ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry.’ Although Karan Kapadia directed the Amazon Prime Video series and Nitya Mehra produced it, they were mentors to Aneet but not her biological parents.
A Glimpse into Aneet’s Background
Asianet reports that Aneet, a promising actress, originates from Amritsar and comes from a modest background. She pursued her education at Spring Dale Senior School and later enrolled in Jesus and Mary College, Delhi, kickstarting her modeling career.
Aneet’s parents prefer a private life, with limited public information available about them. A notable aspect is her mother’s unwavering support towards Aneet’s acting aspirations from her early years.
Aneet Padda’s Acting Journey
Prior to ‘Saiyaara,’ Aneet featured in commercials and had a minor role in Kajol’s movie, ‘Salaam Venky.’ Her foray into the OTT realm began with ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry’ in 2024.
