In a symbolic move marking the UAE’s rich heritage and commitment to wildlife conservation, 81 falcons were recently released into the wild in Kazakhstan. The initiative stems from the esteemed Sheikh Zayed Falcon Release Programme, which has been instrumental in reintroducing over 2,300 falcons into their natural habitats since 1995. These releases not only aim to bolster endangered falcon populations but also exemplify the UAE’s dedication to preserving biodiversity and fostering global environmental stewardship. The process involves meticulous health checks, training, and tracking to ensure the falcons’ well-being and contribute valuable data to conservation efforts.
