India is nearing completion of a new 130-km road to Daulat Beg Oldie (DBO) in eastern Ladakh, expected to be fully operational by Oct-Nov 2026. The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has completed significant portions of the road, enhancing military mobility to the frontier. This alternative route aims to improve connectivity and reduce PLA’s ability to track Indian military movements. The new road construction will provide faster transportation of soldiers, weapons, and logistics, with plans for a tunnel under Saser La for all-weather connectivity. This development is part of India’s efforts to enhance border infrastructure amidst the military standoff with China.
