A fresh batch of 7,049 pilgrims began the annual Shri Amarnath Yatra from Jammu’s Bhagwati Nagar with religious fervor, heading towards the sacred cave shrine in the Himalayas. The pilgrimage commenced under strict security measures to ensure the safety of all participants. This year’s pilgrimage started on July 3, with the journey expected to conclude on August 9, coinciding with the Raksha Bandhan festival. The desertion was flagged off by Manoj Sinha, lieutenant governor, marking the commencement of the spiritual journey.
